Harding Racing Unveils New Brand for St. Pete

Harding Racing is eager to present their new team logo, their updated website, and the 2018 #88 Gabby Chaves livery for the IndyCar Series opener, the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. The updated branding is another step towards preparation for running its first full season in the Verizon IndyCar Series.

This will be Harding Racing’s first street course race following a successful three-race stint with Chaves in the 2017 season which included a ninth-place finish in their racing debut at the 101st Indianapolis 500. The team will race under the Chevrolet banner with the Chevy V6 2.2 liter IndyCar engine through the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida on a 1.8 mile, 14-turn temporary street circuit along the waterfront.

The new Harding Racing logo symbolizes tradition, movement, swiftness and strength. Inspired by the Harding family crest, the logo incorporates a swallow-like bird, representing perpetual movement and swift intimidation. Just as a swallow rapidly navigates the air, Harding Racing quickly navigates the racetrack.

This new brand is incorporated in Chaves’s livery and represents Harding Racing’s name as one of the new teams in the IndyCar paddock. The wings of the bird in flight across the car showcase the team’s off-season quest to solidify ourselves as a full-season contender.

The Harding Racing team has utilized the off season to revamp and modernize. They have added crucial key members, moved into a new shop on Main Street in Speedway, and have maintained their relationship with IndyCar veteran, Gabby Chaves.

“I couldn’t be happier with our entire organization right now,” said Team Owner, Mike Harding. “Everyone is putting in maximum effort, and I’m so proud of the Harding Racing family. We’re ready to put up a fight come Sunday. I’m really looking forward to flying our new banner on the streets of St. Petersburg.”

“We’re excited as we head to the first event of the Verizon IndyCar Series,” said team president, Brian Barnhart. “We’ve been on a fast track ramping up the race team into full-season status. We’ve had very successful tests at Sonoma, Phoenix and Sebring, and we’re looking forward to a solid result at St. Pete. We’re also all pleased with the presentation of our new team brand, and I believe it truly represents the Harding Racing culture.”

“I’m super happy that the 2018 season with Harding Racing is about to start,” said Gabby Chaves. “The team has made a couple of exciting changes including a new brand which will change the look of our car and team designs to better signify what Harding Racing is all about. Now that we have completed a few days of testing we can’t wait to see what we can do.”

Al Unser Jr., the executive team consultant said, “We’re ready to finally start racing these guys at St. Pete. We’ve been quick, prepared and ready to compete. I am super excited about Harding Racing’s brand unveiling, I also really love the new logo because it talks about Mike’s family crest which signifies a long-running tradition of success.
